Aurangabad, July 11:

A total of 128 villages in the district have no water tap connection scheme so far because of the unavailability of the fund.

The water supply scheme in 281 is outdated, while 1542 schools and 190 anganwadis in the different parts of the district too have no water connection.

Zilla Parishad president Meena Shelke held a meeting of the water supply department recently.

The State Government implements various schemes to supply water to villages. However, many villages in Aurangabad tehsil had no knowledge of Government schemes. The new Jaljivan Mission has not reached many villages.

Sarpanch, bloc development officer, all gram sevaks and heads of all departments were present in the meeting. There is provision in the scheme that each house should get 55 litres of water. ZP president Meena Shelke scolded all those who were present for no taking the scheme information to the villages.
