Aurangabad, May 22: The doctors of the local MGM Hospital have treated 15 serious children aiding them win the battle against Corona in the past three weeks. The hospital has handled many Covid-19 cases among the children since the outbreak of Covid-19 in March 2020.

Addressing a Press conference here today, MGM vice-president Dr P M Jadhav, dean Dr Rajendra Bora, deputy dean Dr Praveen Suryawanshi and paediatric intensivist Dr Vinod Ingle said in Aurangabad, in the second wave of Covid 19, 12-15 % pediatrics patients are getting infected. Of them, 90% are asymptomatic and required no treatment. Only 2-3% children are showing severe symptoms and need Paediatric ICU admission.

Doctors said out of these 15 children, one was just 13 months old and his HRCT score was 14. The child was cured in the ICU and given discharge. Two children were of 2 and 3 years old respectively. An eight years old boy had kidney disease while two girls had blood cancer.

Dr Vinod Ingle, head of the department Dr Madhuri Engde, Dr Tushar Idhate, Dr Sunil Gavhane, Dr Anjali Kale, Dr Hasib, Dr Siddique and others took efforts for the treatment of the children.
