Aurangabad, May 4:

Two students of Dr Rafiq Zakaria College for Women (Navkhanda) campus won the State-level essay competition on ‘Ideas for Action’ held recently.

Shaikh Bibi Shifa (17) and Nargis Fatima (15) are the only girls to be selected from the entire Marathwada region.

The contest was organised by Project Mumbai in partnership with the Environment and

Climate Change Ministry (State Government).

Principal of the college Dr Maqdoom Farooqui said that this was a big achievement for the college as no other educational institution from the city was shortlisted for the prestigious competition.

Dr Farooqui said that the success of girls is a real tribute to Dr Rafiq Zakaria and Padmashree Fatma Zakaria, who were the pioneers in education, particularly for minority girls in the backward region.
