Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A total of 26 candidates were caught while indulging in malpractice at five districts of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on Tuesday, the first day of the HSC examination.

It may be noted that the flying squads from the different departments visited the examination centres in the division and were keeping watch. Because of this, 26 students were caught involved in malpractice in the division today.

The highest number of copy cases were reported from Parbhani (11) followed by Jalna (9), Beed (three), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (two) and Hingoli (one).

Video shooting

There are 161 centres in the district while 50 of them were declared sensitive ones. The Education Department conducted the video shooting of some sensitive centres of the district today.

The several centres where video shooting was done are located at Soyegaon, Kannad, Vaijapur, Sillod and Gangpur tehsils of the district. The Education Department has also instructions to geotag photographs of the centre premises if anyone is seen supplying copies from outside the centres. The photos will serve as evidence of malpractice and may take action against the centre or those involved in cheating.
