The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar region won a total of 28 medals in the Maharashtra State Police Sports Competition 2025, held from February 22 to March 1 in Thane. The competition saw participants from various regions across Maharashtra.

The combined team from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nanded and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city police commissionerate won 3 gold, 5 silver and 20 bronze medals. The winning players were honoured at a felicitation ceremony on March 11 at the police headquarters, where special IG Virendra Mishra congratulated the athletes. The competition included sports like boxing, wrestling, taekwondo, powerlifting, judo, athletics and weightlifting. Notable medalists include Shilpa Panjge (gold in boxing), Avinash Panchal (gold in taekwondo), and Sita Dhakne (gold in powerlifting). In total, 221 police players from the region, including 165 males and 56 females, showcased their skills. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the region at the state level.
