Aurangabad, April 24: Three persons were killed in a collision between two cars in front of the historical Daulatabad fort on Saturday night at 11.30. The dead have been identified as Raju Asaram Mankikar (34), Deepak Khosre (45, both Galleborgaon) and Madan Ashok Jagtap (28). Two persons were injured seriously. One of them has been admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) while other to a private hospital.

According to the police, a head-on collision occurred between an SUV (MH-20-C-5462) proceeding to Khuldabad from Aurangabad and the car (MH-20-DJ-1771) near Daulatabad police chowky. Daulatabad police station PSI Dilip Bachate, head constable P D Pachlore, K P Kamble, Sharad Bacchav, Prabhakar Patekar, Sachin Tribhuvan, Naim Sayeed and area residents rushed to the spot and took the injured to the GMCH. Khosre and Jagtap died on the way to the hospital while Mankikar succumbed to the injuries at the GMCH. Sunil Krushna Aute (43, Kasabkheda) and Raju Rangnath Varkad (47, Jyotinagar, Aurangabad) were injured seriously. Both cars sustained extensive damage in the accident. Till late tonight, a process to register a case was in progress at the Khuldabad police station.
