Aurangabad, April 5: Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) has released 8.02 lakh new HT and LT connections in state in various categories during April to March 2021.

This includes 44,782 connections in Aurangabad zone. Also, the chairman and managing director of Mahavitaran Vijay Singhal instructed to immediately release the pending connections, as the required amount of new meters are now available.

Generally 9 to 10 lakh new connections are released by Mahavitaran every year. Last year, there was a slowdown in releasing new connections during lockdown between March to June due to the Corona pandemic. However, like other power services, there was no break in the work of releasing new connections. To reduce the shortage of meters, 3.35 lakh meters were provided till the March-end to all the four regions of MSEDCL. The consumers can apply for new connections online on www.mahadiscom.in or through the Mahavitaran mobile app. After receiving the application, the internal process of application is also done online so that the consumers can see the track status of the application online right from the application to the approval process.
