Aurangabad, March 3:

A total of 45 teachers from 18 Zilla Parishad (ZP) schools were found Novel coronavirus positive in the district between February 21 and March 3.

It may be noted that the State Government gave permission to reopen the schools from first to 12th standards in a phased-manner after lockdown. The COVID test was made compulsory for school staff before joining the duty.

Education officer Dr B B Chavan said that classes of 16 schools were kept closed first to ten days.

Five of them to remain closed for the next few days as teachers are undergoing treatment. There is a problem before the education department since teachers were found affected by the pandemic virus.

Some of the school villages where teachers were found suffering from COVID are as follows; Mamnabad, Naagar, Ranjangaon Dandga, Vakod (each two) and Bidkin (five).

The school committees and administration also carried out a RTPCR test of other teachers.

The disinfectant was sprayed and safety measures were taken in the school while some schools did a test of students also.

The Education Department said that no student was found positive yet.
