A newborn male baby who was found abandoned on a farm at Tunki village of the district was hospitalised and put on ventilator support.

According to details, a woman who had five daughters threw her newborn baby on a farm on September 30 considering that she delivered the female baby again. There was speculation in the village over finding an abandoned male newborn baby. Hearing this, she claimed that this was her boy who was admitted to the Paediatrics Department of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Wednesday. The baby boy was being kept on oxygen as its weight is just 1200 grams and lungs were not developed properly. Incharge head of the department Dr Amol Suryavanshi said that the condition of the newborn boy deteriorated, it was put on ventilator support.
