Aurangabad, April 15:
District collector and chairman of the district disaster management authority Sunil Chavan has ordered the acquisition of M/S R L Steel based in Chittegaon (Paithan) for immediate supply of oxygen to hospitals and distributors in the district.
The collector informed that the acquired manufacturer will supply oxygen from the oxygen plant site to any hospital, distributor in the city or district. The concerned should take note that there will be no negligence in this work. As the monitoring officer of the team, Shrimant Harkar, deputy director, directorate of tourism and joint commissioner, food and drug administration, Aurangabad will submit reports from time to time. A team has been appointed to ensure an immediate supply of jumbo cylinders by the oxygen producers as per the demand of the district administration and to the covid hospitals in the district. Manoj Talware, GD Jadhav, S H Deshmukh, DD Mahalkar and BD Rathore are a part of this team.
Increased demand for oxygen
Dedicated covid hospitals and dedicated Covid Care Centers (DCCC) treating covid patients require a large amount of oxygen. Given the increased demand for oxygen in March, it is imperative that oxygen (in the form of jumbo cylinders) be made available immediately in case of any shortage of oxygen in any hospital in Aurangabad district and Aurangabad municipal corporation area in future. Due to the increase in the number of oxygen beds and ventilator beds in the district, an emergency stock of oxygen should be available 24 hours a day.
