All 3 pipelines good, yet, many colonies crying for water
Lokmat News Network
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: All three water pipelines that supply water to the city have been running very smoothly for the past four days. The city is getting 145 MLD of water every day.
Despite this, there is a cry for water in many colonies. There is a question over who controls the water supply. The lineman decides which colony should get how much water. One colony gets a water supply for 45 minutes and another for four to five hours. Complaints are increasing that the residents living at the far end of the area where water is being supplied are not getting even a drop of water.
Even though more than half of the summer is over, the city has not received an additional 75 MLD of water. Local politicians and officials have made false promises to 18 lakh citizens so far.
It is certain that the city will not get additional water this summer. Water supply was disrupted this summer due to frequent bursting of water pipes and technical malfunctions.
Fortunately, all three pipelines, which have been partially quenching the city's thirst for the past four days, are functioning normally, as per the information given by the water supply department, on Sunday.
The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) has no plan for the available water. There is no schedule for how long water will be provided to which colony. The linemen are working as the boss of the entire water supply.

No control of engineers
Junior engineers and deputy engineers in the water supply department do not check which area is receiving water for how long. They come for inspection only when seniors visit. Not a single lineman has a water supply schedule. It has come to light that the time and date for which water was given to which colony is not even recorded anywhere.

Water is enough, but gap not reduced
With the water stock supplied from the dam, the CSMC is easily able to provide water to the citizens at least every five days. Even after that, there are complaints that many colonies are getting water only after eight to ten days. Due to a lack of proper planning, citizens have to suffer for water.

410 rounds of 80 tankers
The Municipal Corporation supplies water to the citizens of the Gunthewari area by tankers.
These areas have no pipelines. For this, 80 tankers are making 410 rounds every day. The tankers require at least 3 MLD of water daily. A total of 17 tankers make 95 rounds at N-7, 16 tankers make 49 rounds from Kotla Colony and 47 tankers make 266 rounds at N-7 in 24 hours. This is the subject of research.

Water supply to be improved
We have started inspecting every water tank and colony. Due to this, the machinery started working. Soon the gaps in the water supply will reduce. Currently, the emphasis is on resolving complaints of contaminated water and finding and repairing choked water channels using robotic methods. Inspections are being carried out at two places every day.
