Aurangabad, Jan 6:

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Tuesday executed an action against a clinic at Maliwada where allopathic medicines for abortion without any permission. It was found that the doctor arrested was not a registered practitioner and the FDA has also seized several drugs used for abortion. It is also being investigated that until now the medicines have been administered to how many women and sold at what cost.

FDA, conducted a raid on a clinic of Dr Deepak Kunkulol (Jain) at Maliwada on Tuesday. Drug inspector, Varsha Mahajan possing as a dummy patient went to the clinic. Dr Jain gave her the medicine for abortion. Hence, Assistant Commissioner Milind Koleshwarkar and Varsha Mahajan executed action against Dr Jain and seized medicines amounting Rs 12,733. Dr Jain has completed his BHMS course but has not been registered with the Maharashtra Medical Council. The allopathic and abortion medicines stored and being sold without permission have been seized under the drug rule 16. Action is being executed against Dr Jain under Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940. It is being investigated that how many women have been administered the abortion drugs, informed FDA joint commissioner Sanjay Kale.
