AMC faces opposition from patients over shifting from Covid Care Centre in Osmanpura
The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has withdrawn its decision of shifting the patients from Government College of Engineering''s (GCE, Osmanpura) boy''s hostel to girls hostel on campus after the Covid-19 patients opposed to the health administration.
The decision to shift all 50 Covid-19 patients from GCE, which is Covid Care Centre, was taken suddenly on Tuesday. The centre-coordinator Dr Archana Rane issued the order after receiving instructions from the senior authorities.
An air of disappointment prevailed amongst the patients when they learnt about the shifting. They unitedly opposed and underlined that they are now comfortable here with their family members. They, however, suggested admitting new patients in the girl''s hostel. After two long hours, the civic administration took back the decision.
Dr Rane said, " The decision of shifting to another hostel was taken to overcome the inconvenience faced by the health employees. The problem has been solved, therefore, the decision has been cancelled."
