The anti-encroachment squad of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has filed an FIR against three persons for illegally marking of 70 plots on land bearing Gut Numbers 1 and 2 in Mitmita, at Cantonment police station, today.

The land falls under the Green Zone (No Development Zone). Under the guidance of the administrator Astik Kumar Pandey, the AMC officials registered the offence for violating Section 52 and 43 of Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966.

It so happened that the Shiva Bhadra Builders illegally developed Shivbhadra Park on above two gut numbers during the lockdown period. They marked 70 plots of different sizes. The builders also displayed a signboard stating to contact three persons - Rajput, D R Navgire and Shashikant Jadhav - on their contact numbers for buying the plots. The AMC removed and seized the board today.

Earlier, the additional commissioner R P Nikam, deputy engineer Sanjay Kombade, designated officers Jaganath Jadhav and Savita Sonawane inspected the site and found that the land falls under Green Zone. Besides, a 200-feet wide Ring Road is passing through the land. The road leading to AMC''s proposed Safari Park also passes through the land. Hence to prevent encroachments and constructions on the said land, the civic administration claimed to have alerted the owners but was in vain.

Hence, the AMC''s designated officers Jadhav, Sonawane, building inspectors Syed Jamsheed and Ravindra Desai along with anti-encroachment squad and the police security performed today''s action.
