AMC foils plan to encroach its plot of valuing Rs 1.5 cr in Shahgunj

Aurangabad, May 27:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today has foiled a plan to encroach upon its old plot, situated in the locality behind the Mahatma Gandhi statue, in the Shahgunj area. The market value of this land is estimated at around Rs 1.5 crore.

Acting upon the information, the AMC's anti-encroachment squad reached the plot bearing CTS number 7665. The squad seized the encroaching material including tin sheets from the site. Later on, the AMC's estate section took possession of it. The encroacher tried to argue with the AMC officials but was in vain as the plot is registered in the name of AMC in the property registration (PR) Card.

It is learnt that the AMC obtained the plot of size between 1500 and 1800 square foot, from Lal Mohammed Fateh Mohammed Qureshi, way back in 1950. Hence for the last seven decades, the property is in the name of AMC. It so happened that the heir of one (late) Narayan Singh Kishan Singh, Balwant Singh Narayan Singh along with Mohammed Wajid Mohammed Yaqub, and five others started erecting a compound wall of tin sheets on Thursday. The AMC administrator A K Pandey got the information and he then ordered immediate action. The additional commissioner R P Nikam and deputy commissioner Aparna Thete reached the spot along with the anti-encroachment squad officials including Vasant Bhoye, Savita Sonawane and others and foiled the plan of encroachment.
