AMC removes encroachment from Maqbara vicinity after one year
Aurangabad, Jan 5:
The anti-encroachment squad of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today removed nine shops illegally constructed in the vicinity of Bibi ka Maqbara today. The AMC was delaying in taking action for reasons better known to it, although the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI, Aurangabad Circle) had intimated the civic body, way back in 2019.
Initially, the AMC, like other complaints, had kept the plaint of encroachment also to aside. During the last one year, the AMC just completed the formality of serving notices to the encroacher. However, the civic administration geared up after the district collectorate and the Superintending Archaeologist reminded the AMC about the illegal construction and encroachment made by Jayaraj Kamlakar Pande, through letters, on December 14, 2020.
Later on, the additional commissioner R P Nikam inspected the site on January 4, 2021 and ordered the anti-encroachment squad for action. Accordingly, the civic team reached the periphery of Maqbara and removed all the illegally built nine shops today.
The AMC squad also removed encroachment of vegetable market creating a nuisance to traffic in Mukundwadi Area today. The designated officer Savita Sonawane, R S Rachatwar, building inspector Syed Jamsheed, Ravindra Desai, P B Gaoli and others took action.
