Aurangabad, March 3:

The health administration of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sent swab samples of two Covid-19 patients to the testing laboratory of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). These patients were reported as Coronavirus infected after taking two dosages of the vaccine.

It may be noted that the sensation prevailed after 283 patients were detected in the city on Tuesday. As a result, the AMC health officials swung into action to take preventive measures to seize the outbreak.

The COVID vaccination drive started in the city on January 16. The vaccine was administered to health care workers in the first phase and front line workers in the second phase. Later on, the senior citizens and aged persons suffering from co-morbidity are given the vaccine from March 1. The drive evoked a good response from the citizens. The two dosages are given on a gap of 28 days.

It is learnt that these two persons were reported as Covid-19 positives after taking the second dosage of vaccine 4-5 days ago. On feeling uneasiness, they voluntarily get themselves tested and found to be infected. This created a sensation in the health machinery.

The municipal officer of health (MoH), Dr Neeta Padalkar, said, " We have sent the swab samples of two persons who had been tested as positives to GMCH. We have also conducted their RT-PCR test and found mild symptoms of Covid-19 in them. The antibodies are formed after taking both the dosages of the vaccine. It is mandatory for the persons taking a vaccine to wear a face mask, maintain social distance and use hand sanitisers after taking the vaccine."
