Aurangabad, April 10:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided to purchase 10 x-ray portable (mobile) machines for the treatment of Covid-19 patients having mild symptoms in 10 Covid Care Centres (CCCs), soon. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 1.85 crore. It is hoped that the AMC will be inviting the tender from a supplier on Monday.

It may be noted that the AMC has started 14 CCCs in the city and 1,827 patients are undergoing treatment at these centres. Earlier, the AMC has installed a CT Scan machine, which is sponsored by a private company under CSR, at Meltron Hospital. Till then the hospital was sending the patients to private centres for CT Scan. Now, it has emerged as a boon for the patients undergoing treatment.

The doctors conduct an x-ray of patients having mild symptoms of Coronavirus. Presently, the patients had to visit the nearest private centre for the x-ray. Sensing the need, the AMC administrator A K Pandey decided to purchase 10 mobile (portable) x-ray machines for the CCCs. The proposal of Rs 1.85 crore had been administratively approved. The AMC would be inviting tender from the supplier on Monday. Accordingly, the shortlisted agency will be given a work order to install the machines in a couple of days. The x-ray machines will be rotated in all 14 CCCs as per the need.
