The administration of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) decided to repair roads with modern material and technology.

The condition of roads is very bad for the past two months. Potholes up to five to six inches deep have surfaced on main and internal roads. Residents are facing a lot of inconveniences daily.

Every year, the AMC carries out patchwork before the Ganesh festival through the contractor. This year, the coffers of the civic body are empty and work tenders were not invited. Citizens are upset with the Corporation because of the sorry state of the roads.

The AMC administrator, Astik Kumar Pandey decided to repair the roads. Polymer-based material will be used instead of tar. A Pune-based agency gave a demonstration of modern material, a few days. The AMC will purchase the material from the company and repair the roads. It has prepared a proposal of Rs 26.50 lakh for the patchwork.

Around Rs 2.75 lakh to Rs 3 lakh would be spent for each ward. Astik Kumar Pandey approved the files of the works. The files will be sent to the Accounts Department for final approval. The short-term tenders will be invited to purchase polymer-based material once the proposal gets final approval. Its employees will do the repair works.
