The health officials of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has detected 15 Covid-19 patients, out of 694 RT-PCR tests, it had conducted during the drive to check the health of the hotel and restaurant owners along with their staff, in last three days.
The state government has granted permission to the operations of hotels and restaurants in Maharashtra from October 5. To ensure the safety of customers visiting these places, the administrator A K Pandey ordered the implementation of the drive.
According to sources in the health section, " We had conducted RT-PCR tests of 694 hotel and restaurant owners and their employees in the past three days. Of which, we detected 15 persons suffering from Coronavirus Disease. The AMC will start treatment upon them soon. The drive will continue for a few more days."
The AMC administrator is not taking any risk. When the state government had declared the first phase of the unlock situation, he had ordered conducting health check-up of all merchants and traders in the city. In the last week of October, the AMC is gearing up to re-tests all the business fraternity. The health administration concerned has made necessary preparations for it as well, it is learnt.
