Appointment of district collector may be cancelled

District collector Sunil Chavan, has been shortlisted by the Election Commission (EC) to act as an observer for the upcoming assembly elections in the state of Bihar. However, according to sources, his appointment may be cancelled due to political pressure.

According to highly placed sources, the appointment will be revoked in the wake of the corona crisis. Similarly, it is said that the district collector cannot be given such an appointment. Therefore, the question arises as to who is at fault in this case.

Aurangabad is counted among the top ten cities in the state for the spread of covid infection. In addition, the district collector has accepted the post only a month ago. In such a situation, the Election Commission appointed him as an observer for Bihar elections

The public representatives also expressed their displeasure over the appointment and demanded the cancellation of the orders. MP Imtiyaz Jaleel, MP Dr Bhagwat Karad and other representatives will be writing a letter to the government. Sources, meanwhile stated the district collector cannot be given such appointment and hence the appointment will be cancelled.
