Aurangabad, MARCH 1: An assistant director of audit department (Class-I officer) Kiran Ghotkar was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 20,000 in bribe in Beed town of Marathwada on Monday at 9.30 pm.

According to sources, the officer demanded a bribe from the complainant. The complainant was unwilling to give the bribe so he lodged a complaint with the anti-corruption bureau (ACB).

The ACB sleuths laid a trap and the accused was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 20,000.

Deputy superintendent of police (ACB) Balkrishna Hanpude Patil and his team conducted the raid.

In the last 15 days, this is the third case of the arrest of a Class-I officer while accepting a bribe.

Patoda Block Development Officer Narayan Misal was caught while accepting Rs 37,000 on February 17, while Majalgaon sub-divisional officer Shrikant Gaikwad was caught accepting Rs 65,000 on February 18. The process of lodging a complaint was on.
