Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
The local court awarded two days' police custody remand (PCR) to an accused who allegedly took possession of a plot by obtaining an electricity meter in his name using forged documents. Earlier, he was arrested on court orders.
According to the complaint filed by Shailesh Tibdewal, Mohammed Rafiq Abdul Raziq has been employed by his company since 2018. As Rafiq did not have a residence in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, he was temporarily allowed to stay in a tin shed on a plot owned by Shailesh, located in Rajdeep Cooperative Housing Society, Plot No. 51. No rent or charges were taken from him for this arrangement. However, after Rafiq left his job at the company, he was asked to vacate the plot.
Instead of vacating, Rafiq filed a court petition regarding the plot. On March 28, 2023, the court dismissed his petition and ruled in favour of Shailesh. Despite the court's decision, Rafiq allegedly forged a fake sale deed in Shailesh’s name, along with a fabricated 7/12 extract (property record) and a forged share certificate of the housing society. He then removed the electricity meter, which was originally under Shailesh’s name, and obtained a new one under his own name.
Upon investigation, it was found that the documents submitted for the electricity meter, such as the Form 8 extract and the share certificate, were forged. The intent was to illegally grab the plot. Based on the court's order, the police arrested the accused. Assistant Police Inspector (API) Sanjay Gite said that the accused has been sent to two days of police custody.
