Attempt to murder father-son duo after kidnapping

Two men arrested in connection with the kidnapping and assault of a father and son in the Ektanagar area late on April 3 have been remanded to three-day police custody.

The duo was forcibly taken on a two-wheeler by the accused under the pretext of being escorted to the police station. While the son was left injured near Beed Bypass, the father was brutally assaulted in Jalannagar. Police have booked the accused for attempted murder and are on the lookout for a third suspect.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Salman Shaikh and Mustaqeem Sayyed, both residents of Ektanagar, Itkheda. A third accomplice is currently absconding. The case was registered at Satara Police Station based on a complaint filed by Shabana Jameel Pathan. According to the FIR, around midnight, the accused knocked on Jameel Pathan's door. When Jameel stepped out with his son Rehan, the suspects aggressively questioned them for knocking earlier and forced them into a vehicle under the pretext of going to the police station. Rehan was taken to the Beed Bypass area, brutally beaten, and left behind. Jameel was then driven to Jalannagar, where he was assaulted severely, sustaining critical head injuries. He was later found by local resident Sufiyan Pathan and brought home. Jameel is now in the ICU at GMCH. Acting swiftly, Satara Police, under PI Sangram Tate and IO Amol Kamthe, arrested the two main accused, who are in three-day custody. A search is on for the third accused.
