Bamu cancels PG-CET in view of COVID 19, starts online admissions process

The administration of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) cancelled the common entrance test (PG-CET) for the admissions to different postgraduate courses except political science for the academic year 2020-21.

It may be noted that until last year, the PG-CET was conducted for the master courses in the city and Osmanabad sub-centre. The university decided to not to hold the test this year because of Novel coronavirus.

The online admissions process began from Tuesday for the admissions in 45 departments in the city campus and ten courses in Osmanabad- sub-centre.

The departments will prepare the merit list on the basis of marks obtained by the students in their graduate degree course. The last date of applying online for the admissions is December 31.

The provisional list will be displayed on January 2 while the first selection list will be released on January 6. The second selection list will be out on January 18. The department will declare the third list on January 23 and spot round will be organised if seats remain vacant.

Since there is a higher number of aspirants for political science PG course, the department will hold the entrance test.

The departments offer PG courses in different faculties including humanities, science, commerce and management and interdisciplinary faculties.
