Aurangabad, April 14:

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) on Wednesday postponed all undergraduate and postgraduate courses examinations for more than 15 days because of COVID spread.

It may be noted that the first year UG courses like BA, B Sc, B Com started within the jurisdiction of Bamu on April 7.

Students of the second and third year were taking their papers since March 16. The examinations of Engineering, Pharmacy and other professional courses commenced on April 6.

The university has provided two modes-offline and online- for examinations to the students taking into present COVID 19 situations.

Only Bamu was conducting the examinations while other universities of the State have already postponed the examinations. There was also a demand from different teachers unions to postpone the examination for students and teachers' safety. The State Government imposed strict curbs on Tuesday night to contain the spread of the pandemic virus.

Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole directed the Examinations Department to postpone the papers of courses to be conducted between April 15 and 30.

All the UG students will take their papers from April 3. The postgraduate courses examinations which were to begin from April 27 will start now from May 5.

Director of Board of Examinations and Evaluation Dr Yogesh Patil appealed to all students to opt for online mode for the remaining papers.
