Aurangabad, Jan 19:

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University's administration has not held anybody responsible for the damage of lunch home's fibre dome.

It may be noted that lunch home was constructed for students, visitors, and university employees by spending Rs 1.50 crore four years ago. The university spent around Rs 30 lakh to install two fibre dome on the lunch home line of foreign universities. Left side dome was damaged in the last July because of heavy rains.

The administration conducted an inspection of the dome through experts and issued instructions for an insurance claim. Bamu’s Estate Department submitted the claim with the insurance company.

Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole also instructed the administration to withhold the bill's last installment (Rs 8.50 lakh).

Commenting on the point, VC Dr Pramod Yeole said anything can happen because of natural calamities. “The same contractor has installed another dome which is intact. This does not mean that sub-standard quality was used. The insurance claim was submitted with the company, and it will take time to get the claim amount,” he added.
