Bamu to launch helpline for students, 2 teams of teachers, employees

Aurangabad, May 2:

Vice-chancellor of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) Dr Pramod Yeole announced to start a helpline for students and forming two teams for teaching and non-teaching staff members to understand regular and health problems of students and employees and counsel them.

He was speaking after inaugurating a lecture on ‘Post-COVID 19 life’ hosted by the Psychology Department of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) on Friday.

Pro-VC Dr Shaym Shirsath, registrar Dr Jaishri Suryavanshi, department heads were present.

VC Dr Pramod Yeole said that various initiatives were being taken for students and employees considering the pandemic situation.

Dr D K Gaikwad (director, sub-center, Osmanabad) will lead the first group of teachers and help them to solve their regular issues. State unit vice-president of university employees union Dr Kailas Pathrikar will be the chief of the second group of employees. Those who wish to work voluntarily can join the groups.

Head of Psychology Department Dr Aparna Ashtapure was appointed chief of students helpline.

Also, an expert in Psychology Dr Sandeep Shisode will also counsel the students. “The university administration will take efforts on a mass level for all measures of post-COVID situation. Various lectures will be organised for a month,” he added. Dr Ashaputre conducted the proceedings of the programme while Sanjay Shinde proposed a vote of thanks.
