Aurangabad, May 10:
BJP public representatives including MP Dr. Bhagwat Karad, MLA Atul Save and city president Sanjay Kenekar today claimed that the state government and the guardian minister, both have abandoned the district, as the Maha Vikas Aghadi ministers are transporting the maximum quantity of vaccines in their respective districts. The district faced the same situation in Remdesivir injection. As a result, confusion and conflicts have emerged in connection with the vaccination, they alleged.
Former mayor Bhagwan Ghadamode, Anil Makariye, Rajesh Mehta and Ram Budhwant were also present on the occasion.
Referring to the supply of vaccines stock by the Central Government to Maharashtra, Karad said, " Absence of proper planning to implement the vaccination drive and supply of vaccine accordingly has created problems everywhere. The state government in defence points out a finger towards the Central Government. The Centre had given the maximum number of ventilators in the country to Aurangabad. Maximum funds are given to the state government to fight against Covid-19."
He claimed that the centre had supplied 1.82 crore vaccines to the state. However, the vaccination drive is implemented effectively only in Mumbai and selected other constituencies. The citizens who had taken the first dose of the vaccine (not Covishield) are in confusion as they do not know when the second dose would be available. Today, a stock of 26,000 vaccines (13,000 for the urban sector and 13,000 for the rural sector) had arrived in the district.
Save said, " The guardian minister Subhash Desai seems to have abandoned the district. He hardly spares time to meet public representatives of opposition parties. The vaccine is stocked in Mumbai. Our neighbouring Jalna district gets an adequate quantity of vaccines and injections compared to its population. Then why the partiality is done with the citizens of Aurangabad."
The MLA also said the 115 vaccination centres were established in the city, but a majority of them got closed due to a shortage of vaccines. The supply of vaccines is being made in large stock to Mumbai keeping an eye on the forthcoming municipal corporation elections.
Kenekar said that the BJP had submitted a vaccination programme, but the state government had not even thought over it.
