Aurangabad, July 4:
A blood donation camp was organized at United Ciigma Hospital on Sunday on the occasion of the birth anniversary of freedom fighter and founder editor of Lokmat venerated Jawaharlalji Darda alias Babuji. Doctors, nurses, health workers and citizens responded spontaneously to the blood donation.
The chief managing director of United Ciigma hospital, Dr Unmesh Takalkar, and director Dr Manisha Takalkar inaugurated the camp by lighting a lamp. On this occasion, Lokmat Editor Nandkishore Patil, senior general manager Pravin Chopra, senior manager of advertising department Akshay Sahuji, chief executive officer of the hospital Dr Ajay Rotte were the chief guests. Sanjay Ghanekar, Dheeraj Tiwari, Sachin Pavade, Kishore Kulkarni, Suryakant Dandge, Jyoti Gawli, Girish Deshpande, Ravina Dhotre, Jyoti Vakhre and hospital staff worked hard for the success of the camp. Blood was collected by Amruta blood bank at the camp. Santosh Sangewar, Vishal Jain, Komal Khandagale, Ajay Salunke, Imran Sheikh, Dr Kiran Ghodke and others took efforts.
Young woman with a rare blood type donates blood
Ayushi Khandelwal, a young woman with a rare blood type 'O Negative', was the first person to donate blood at the camp. This is her second time donating blood. Ayushi said that she got information about blood donation from Lokmat and was inspired to donate blood.
