Thieves snatched gold chains from the necks of the women in two different incidents. A teacher Kavita Dalsingh Ghun (34, Amrutasai Sara City, Walmi Road) was going on her moped on Thursday morning. Near Walmi Naka, two motorcyclists came near her on a black motorcycle and snatched her gold chain weighing 1.5 tolas. They later fled away speedily from the scene. Kavita shouted for help but no one came for her assistance. PI of the Satara police station Surendra Malale, PSI Maroti Dasre and crime branch officers rushed and inspected the spot. A case has been registered at the Satara police station while PSI Dasre is further investigating the case. In another incident, thieves snatched gold chain of Swati Shirish Kalegaonkar (52), a resident of Samarthnagar on Thursday at around 11.15 am. She had gone to the Ram Temple near Varad Ganesh Temple with some other women. While returning, two persons came near her on a motorcycle and snatched her chain weighing 4.25 tolas. The women shouted for help, but the motorcyclists had fled away until then. They immediately informed about the incident to the Kranti Chowk police station. PI Dr G H Darade, crime branch PI Avinash Aghav, API Ajabsingh Jarwal, PSI G P Sontakke, PSI Santosh Raut and others went and inspected the spot.
