Aurangabad, Feb 16:

The sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested a circle officer of Chikalthana for accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 for conducting a panchnama of a mine and crop in the field of the complainant's uncle.

Appasaheb Muralidhar Gorade (50) is the name of the corrupt circle officer. Bramhadev Gawde, deputy superintendent of the ACB, said the complainant's uncle has a mine in his field. The complainant met circle officer Gorade and asked him to do a panchanama of the mine and crops in the field. On July 24, 2020, Gorade demanded a bribe of Rs 25,000 for himself and Rs 25,000 for Talath. The complainant reported the matter to the ACB. The officials sent two panch along with the complainant to verify the bribe demand. The ACB then set a trap to catch Gorade. However, Gorade did not take the bribe from the complainant as he suspected that a complaint had been lodged against him with the ACB. However, the ACB on Tuesday registered a case against the accused at Chikalthana police station for demanding bribe and arrested him informed police superintendent Dr Rahul Khade. The action was taken by police personnel Sunil Patil, Vijay Bamhade, Milind Ipper and driver Changdev Bagul.
