Aurangabad, March 6:
With the rumours of lockdown, people flocked to the market for shopping. Considering the difficulties faced during the lockdown period, citizens were seen shopping for groceries and daily necessities.
Crowds were seen in Gulmandi, Paithan gate, Aurangpura, Shahganj, Roshangate, Jawahar Colony, Garkheda, Satara, Shivajinagar, Railway Station, Cantonment, Cidco, Hudco, Chikalthana and Mukundwadi areas on Saturday. Citizens were seen stockpiling food items that would last at least a week. Citizens in rickshaws, as well as two-wheelers, were flooding the roads. The shopkeepers were also confused as the crowd suddenly increased since afternoon. Traders said they could not meet customer demands due to the sudden increase in crowds. The Connaught area also witnessed more crowds of customers in the afternoon. Vegetable markets were also crowded. Many areas experienced traffic jam as the rush increased in the evening.
Crowds at liquor stores
Many alcoholics were seen rushing to the shop to buy alcohol to store liquor quota of at least ten days.
