Civic students get hands-on-experience to assemble Femto Satellites in Pune

Aurangabad, Jan 20:

A batch of ten students from various schools of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) attended a daylong workshop, organised by A.P.J Kalam National Foundation's Space Zone India, in connection with the making of Femto Satellites, in Pune, on January 19.

To event - Dr A.P.J Kalam Space Research Payload Cubes Challenge, 2021 - will be making three world records. The workshop was held in Pune and Nagpur on Tuesday. The Foundation will be launching 100 Femto Satellites, prepared by the students, from Rameshwaram, on February 7, 2021.

These selected minds got a hands-on experience to assemble the satellites will be launching next month. The AMC students prepared one Femto Satellite, while the total students attending the workshop in Pune assembled 23 satellites under the guidance of Martin Group and Manisha Chaudhary. The students attending the workshop in Nagpur prepared 16 Femto Satellites under the guidance of Milind Chaudhary. The workshop is being conducted all over the country to assemble 100 satellites.

The civic school students including Sonali Yadav, Suraj Jadhav, Vishal Wahul, Gulnaz Syed, Rani Chopade, Nandini Mote, Pratima Mhaske, Sahil Kedare, Irshad Khan and Rupali Gaikwad were undergoing online training (in Marathi) for the past one week. They are students of AMC schools at Priyadarshini, Harsul, Mukundwadi, and Cidco N-7. Shashikant Ubale is coordinating the project.

The civic officials comprising education officer Ramnath Thore, cultural officer Sanjeev Sonar, and teachers accompanied the AMC students for the workshop.
