Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

On Tuesday, the MIM party staged a protest in front of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) headquarters demanding that no action be taken against handcarters. During the protest, there were loud slogans shouted against municipal authorities, and an attempt was made to break the headquarters' entrance gate. In response, the administration launched an action on Wednesday at Shahganj, Paithan Gate, and Ghati Road. The MIM party opposed this action again, causing the civic team to leave empty-handed.

The dispute between the MIM party and the CSMC over hawkers, street vendors, and handcarts has escalated in the city. The tension has been building for the past week, with the corporation starting action, which the MIM party has been protesting. This conflict is growing day by day.

With the start of the holy month of Ramazan on March 2, hawkers are expected to dominate the main roads of the city, causing traffic jams. Even shopkeepers who sell goods in front of their stores are facing trouble due to this. For the past eight to ten days, the corporation's encroachment removal team has been acting as street vendors and handcart operators.

Filing of a case due to opposition

The MIM party opposed the action on Mukundwadi and Ghati Road, which led the corporation to file a case against MIM leaders. Afterward, the MIM staged a sit-in protest in front of the CSMC on Tuesday. Former MP Imtiaz Jaleel also participated in the protest.

Opposition to the CSMC action again

Today morning, the corporation's Nagari Mitra Pathak and anti-encroachment squad teams arrived at Shahganj, Paithan Gate, and Ghati Road for action. MIM activists, including former corporator Naser Siddiqui, opposed the action, forcing the municipal team to return without taking any action.
