Aurangabad, May 29:

“I Completed MBBS and MD at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Aurangabad. Later, I worked as civil surgeon at different district. I am happy that I could work in the city where I gained medical education and feel that my services have borne fruits. I could repay the loan of the GMCH”, opined district civil surgeon Dr S V Kulkarni.

Dr Kulkarni is retiring on May 31. While talking to LT, he said, he is a MD Anesthetist and was selected as medical officer through Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) in 1985. He accomplished the journey from Class one Anesthetist to the district civil surgeon. He worked at Nandurbar, Dhule, Sindhudurg, Nashik and other places. He joined the Aurangabad District Civil Hospital (DCH) as civil surgeon in 2018. The DCH was newly constructed then and only OPD was available. He started all the departments one by one. The load on the GMCH was reduced due to DCH. During the Corona Pandemic, the DCH was converted in the Covid Hospital. I am satisfied that I could work for the Corona control, Dr Kulkarni mentioned.
