Constitution gave human value & dignity to citizens of country: Justice Prasanna Varale

“There was a criticism on the Indian Constitution regarding whether it will remain relevant to the times. However, even after 75 years, the Constitution is relevant to the times and it is our guide. The Constitution has given human value and dignity to the citizens of this country,” said Justice, Prasanna Varale, judge of Supreme Court.

The inauguration ceremony of the Constitution Mahotsav was held at Rukmini Auditorium this morning at MGM University on Saturday in an enthusiastic atmosphere.

Justice Prasanna Varale interacted with the attendees on this occasion. MGM chairman Kamal Kishore Kadam, its Vice-chairman Dr P M Jadhav, Secretary Ankushrao Kadam, Trustee Dr Amardeep Kadam, Vice Chancellor Dr Vilas Sapkal, adv S K Kadam, Registrar Dr Ashish Gadekar and others were present.

Speaking further Justice Prasanna Varale said, "The Preamble of the Constitution is its soul and every word of the Preamble is important.

"The provisions of the Constitution, that we all always talk about, are the fundamental rights of the citizens and the guiding principles of the state. When the question of fundamental rights of the citizens came up, it was also provided that the protection and preservation of fundamental rights would be the responsibility of the High Court and the Supreme Court," he said.

Kamal Kishor Kadam and Ankushrao Kadam also spoke. Dr Shiv Kadam conducted the proceedings of the programme while Dr Zartab Ansari proposed a vote of thanks.
