Aurangabad, Jan 8:

The state government has initiated a 15-day drive to enable housing societies to obtain deemed conveyance. The drive is being held till January 15. Housing societies that wish to obtain conveyance can do so during this special drive, said Anilkumar Dabshede, district deputy registrar Co-operative societies in a press conference here today.

The cooperative department has started a special drive for spreading awareness among the housing societies regarding deemed conveyance. “Those builders who have not done the deemed conveyance, they should come forward and do it. A special drive has been organized by the state government”, said Dabshede. “Our teams will visit the remaining societies to check whether they have their conveyance deed. Housing societies can approach us during this period to register the conveyance deed,” he added. The letter issued to all deputy registrars across the state said since the scheme was launched, very few societies have obtained the conveyance deed, and societies wanting to get their conveyance deed can do so during this special drive.

Once a cooperative society is formed, the builder has to hand over the title of the land and building to it within six months. However, builders have failed to do so for decades, and in many cases, have delayed the conveyance as they want to benefit from the FSI or TDR.
