Corona vaccines are provided to the entire world from Maharashtra and it is a
honour for the state. There is no facility at any place in the country but vaccine
is provided to every nook and corner in the country and the world. Maharashtra
has achieved a place of honour in the field of vaccine across the world”,
Opined state medical education minister, Amit Deshmukh.
He was speaking at the Government Medical College and
Hospital (GMCH) while dedicating the MRI machine to the public donated by the
Shirdi Sansthan and the felicitation of the employees by him and the district
guardian minister Subhash Desai.
MP Imtiyaaz Jaleel, MLA Dhiraj Deshmukh, MLC Ambadas Danve,
MLA Atul Save, former MP Chandrakant Khaire, former mayor Nandkumar Ghodele, Dr
Kalyan Kale, dean Dr Kanan Yelikar, Dr Varsha Rote, Dr Jyoti Irawane – Bajaj,
Dr Bharat Sonawane, Dr Meenakshi Bhattacharya, Dr Suresh Harbade, Dr Arvind
Gaikwad, Prakash Mugdiya, Jitendra Avhad and others were present. In a
representational manner, Dr Yelikar, Dr Bhattacharya, Dr Irawane – Bajaj were
felicitated as the Corona warriors by the dignitaries.
Deshmukh further said, a demand to make provision of around
6 to 7 percent in the state budget is being done. Efforts are being taken to
establish a proton therapy centre in the state. Posts of the doctors and nurses
will be increased in GMCH along with increasing the basic facilities, he said.
Desai said that Mahavikas Aaghadi government has given
preference to the health services. The government will keep the health of the
state in good condition, he criticized the opposition. MLA, after the function
of dedicating the machine to the public ignored the felicitation function.
A Mother – Child Health (MCH) wing
with the capacity of 200 beds will be established in the GMCH, for which, the
sanction for the required number of staff will be taken within 15 days, he
said.
