Aurangabad, Oct 17:

The health administration has geared up, while the experts expressed their concern over sudden growth in the figures of Covid-19 patients in the district. The administration and the citizens heaved a sigh of relief when the figures of Covid-19 patients dropped around 100 after a gap of seven long months. However, the rise in infectious persons since the last couple of days pushed all to worry.

A total of 300-400 patients were being detected daily till September 25 in the district. There has been a reduction in patients since the start of October. A total of 100-150 patients were reported every day till October 14. All of them were assuming that the Coronavirus Disease is on the verge of becoming a thing of the past. It was said the antibodies had been developed in the citizens to fight against the ailment. However, the figures of patients in the last two days reminds us about the existence of Covid-19 as the figure of patients crosses 200 each day.

According to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Dean, Dr Kanan Yelikar, " It is hard to say that the disease is re-spreading. It is for sure that Covid-19 has not ended. Take adequate measures and care."

Adds the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation''s (AMC) medical officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar, " The AMC is conducting various tests (antigens and RT-PCR) daily, but the figure of Covid-19 patients is within 200 in the city limits."

The date wise reporting of patients (in bracket) from the district is as follows : October 1 (193), October 2 (169), October 3 (183), October 4 (193), October 5 (164), October 6 (175), October 7 (120), October 8 (137), October 9 (125), October 10 (105), October 11 (120), October 12 (110), October 13 (192), October 14 (142), October 15 (206) and October 16 (217).
