The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) has started supplying electricity to farmers in Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed and Latur districts from October 2, under Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vaahini Yojana (MSKV). Six 33 KV substations through 18 solar agricultural feeders.

As per the approval of electricity regulatory commission, 3 phase power supply is being provided to agricultural pumps in the state for 8 hours a day and 10 hours a night in a circular manner. However, considering the problems faced by the power supply to the agricultural pumps at night, as well as the suggestions made by the farmers and public representatives, the government has decided to supply electricity to the farmers in daytime through the scheme. The scheme has been given impetus on the suggestion of energy minister Dr Nitin Raut, managing director, MSEDCL, Asimkumar Gupta and joint managing director, Aurangabad Dr naresh Gite.
