Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
In a major administrative reshuffle, the Crime Investigation Team (DB Squad) at Waluj MIDC Police Station has been dissolved, with all officers now required to be in official uniform during duty. The decision aims to enhance transparency, discipline, and accountability in law enforcement.
The move has sparked mixed reactions, with many locals welcoming the change, hoping it will curb rising illegal activities in the region. With API Manoj Shinde now in charge of the Vadgaon beat, residents expect stricter action against crime and illicit businesses that have reportedly increased in recent months.
Will the decision strengthen or weaken policing?
While some see the decision as a step toward reform, others worry it might reduce operational flexibility for law enforcement. Experts believe the revised rules will improve internal discipline, as officers must now strictly operate within their assigned beats, avoiding unauthorized interventions in other areas.
New beat assignments
As per the latest orders, officer responsibilities have been reassigned:
Mohatadevi beat: API Arvind Shinde, with PSI Sandeep Kale, Ganesh Giri, Jaibhay, and Constables Patil, Iname.
Vadgaon Kolhati beat: API Manoj Shinde, with PSI Kakad, Vaishnav, Ban, and Constables Randhe, Toke and Gaikwad.
Ranjangaon Shenpunji beat: API Geete, with Sub-Inspectors Abuj, Patharkar, Sheikh, and Constables Nagare, Sagare, Gobade.
Additionally, warrant execution will be handled by constable Vinod Nitanware, Cyber Desk operations by Sachin Bhadarge, and preventive action measures by constable Sardesh Kache. With the new structure in place, all eyes are now on the effectiveness of the reorganization and whether it will lead to better law enforcement or unintended setbacks.
