Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (DBATU), Lonere, has taken different initiatives, including compulsory industrial internship, launching extension centres, remedial examinations’ to enhance the employability of students.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, DBATU executive council (EC) member Principal Dr Ulhas Shinde said that DBATU had decided to start some extension centres the thrust areas of technology at five places including Aurangabad (Automotive and Robotic Research and Pharmaceutical Testing Facilities).
He said that DBATU is the first university in the State to introduce the concept of ‘Major and Minor’ for B Tech courses.
Another EC member Principal Dr Abhijit Wadekar said that the technological university had proven themselves for a robust examination system with a track record of declaring the quick and error-free result.
“It has introduced a concept of ‘Remedial Exam’, an additional examination for the students failed in the semester examination immediately after the declaration of the result to avoid loss of an academic year of a student,” he added.
Dr N G Patil (EC member) said that Atmanirbhar Bharat Cell was started in DBATU to conduct various activities to encourage young researchers and entrepreneurs.
Principal Dr Ulhas Shivurkar said that students get an opportunity of industrial exposure through an industrial internship in one full semester. There will be online teaching of 20 per cent subjects in the current academic year.
