DC serves notices to tehsildars for mutation delays by talathis

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

In an administrative action, the district collector Deelip Swami issued notices to all ten tehsildars in the district. The notice warns that a proposal for action against the talathis delaying the mutation process should be submitted within seven days, or disciplinary action will be taken against them, said the resident deputy collector (RDC) Vinod Khirolkar on Monday.

Currently, around 8,500 mutation records are pending at the talathi level in the district. According to the rule, mutation should be completed within 30 days after the application for property transactions is received. However, delays are happening at the talathi offices. Upon noticing that mutations were not being completed on time, District Collector Swami had ordered the conducting of a mutation court to resolve the pending cases. In January, a mutation court was held across the district, and many pending mutations were cleared. Despite this, several talathis left some records pending. After two months, the number of pending mutations reached more than 8,500. As a result, the district collector had given talathis a deadline of March 12 (Wednesday), to resolve all pending records. Since many mutations remain unresolved, the collector has now issued notices to all the tehsildars.

Proposal order within seven days

The RDC Vinod Khirolkar said, “ Some talathis have shown negligence in the mutation process. As a result, the district collector has issued notices to the tehsildars, directing them to submit a proposal for action against the talathis within seven days. If any tehsildar fails to submit such a proposal, the district collector will decide on further action against them.”
