Aurangabad, April 14:

The farmers and villagers have spotted dead fishes floating in the Pardeshwadi percolation tank, situated under the jurisdiction of Jogeshwari Group Grampanchayat, today. They suspect that the fishes would have died due to the release of effluent waste by the companies from the Waluj Industrial Estate.

Earlier, many cattle had died after drinking the water from the tank and also fishes had died many a time in the past. There was unexpected rainfall in the Waluj Mahanagar vicinity on Tuesday. Hence the farmers fear that the wastewater of the companies got mixed and deposited in the tank.

The disappointed farmers and villagers accused the pollution control board officials of not taking any action against the companies releasing effluent waste in the tank. On the complaint, the officials just visit the village, collect the sample and conclude their action, they grieved.
