Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A group of researchers on Monday demanded to extend the last date of the final Ph D thesis submission in Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada Univeristy (Bamu) to those candidates who registered before 2015.

It may be noted that the university gave an extension to the final thesis submission to old students up to March 31. It also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 for late submissions.

As the date will end soon, a group of students led by Academic Council member Dr Rajesh Karpe demanded a date extension up to June 30, 2025. There are students who have not submitted the final thesis for reasons like poor financial condition, searching for jobs or being jobless.

The group members said that if the date is extended Bamu will give revenue in the form of a fine and those students whose thesis at the final stage may get an opportunity to complete the research.
