Aurangabad, May 17:

Members of Youth Wing of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) demanded the government stop the closure of Swami Vivekanand Academy, Chikalthana, since it is not in the interest of students and teachers.

The MAEER's MIT Pune, which runs the school, decided to close primary and secondary Marathi medium school from the academic year 2021-22.

The school has sent a Transfer Certificate and mark sheet to 650 students by speed post.

In a memorandum submitted to guardian minister Subhash Desai, MP Imtiaz Jaleel and State unit president of the Wing, Dr Kunal Kharat stated the education society and headmaster Santosh Shivraj Darade did not take consent of parents, students, teachers and permission of education department to close the school.

“This is an illegal act and guardian minister should take legal action against the education society,” Dr Kharat said.

Kakasaheb Kakde, Raj Kulkarni, Siddhart Narwade, Bankat Bhosale, Nawaz Qureshi, Awez Shaikh, Usha Kulkarni and parents were present.
