Aurangabad, May 20:

The district collector Sunil Chavan has undertaken a project ' Ubhari 2.0' to encourage the family members of the deceased farmers (who had committed suicide in the district) to rise upon their feet after the loss of their patriarchs. The project will undertake a survey of each family and ensure they could avail maximum benefits of various government schemes through the district administration. The project was lastly implemented in Marathwada in 2018.

The resident deputy collector Sanjeev Jadhavwar, on Thursday, held an online meeting with all the tehsildars and naib tehsildars and ordered them to submit the survey report on farmers who had ended their lives in the district from

2015 to 2020. During his interaction, he also told them to conduct an on-the-spot survey so as to jot down details like the financial condition of the family, the status of dependents, etc.

It is hoped that the survey will give an insight to the district administration and accordingly it would strive to benefit the families under various government schemes in large numbers. After compiling the information, the collector will go

through and take the decision accordingly.

It has come to notice that the families of these deceased farmers had to face several unexpected situations. Hence the project aims at fulfilling their needs and focus on their social, economical, and educational development. The survey report will be submitted to the government for further process.
