Aurangabad, May 12:

The state government today has transferred Dr. Paras H Mandlecha (anesthetist of Beed district hospital) on deputation as the municipal officer of health (MoH) of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), for a period of one year.

It may be noted that the regular post of MoH was lying vacant in the AMC for the past many years. In the meantime, the municipal commissioner A K Pandey has appealed to the state government to send an MoH on deputation, in the backdrop of the Covid-19, on a priority basis. Hence, the anesthetist Dr. Mandlecha has been sent on one year's deputation. The order has been issued by the additional secretary (public health department) V P Ghodke.

So far, Dr. Neeta Padalkar was in charge of the health section and she has succeeded in preventing the outbreak of Covid-19 in the city. For the past 14 months, the health section had undertaken various measures to control the spread of the virus in the city. As an initiative, the AMC has undertaken Covid-19 testings, treatment of Covid patients, vaccination drive, etc under the tenure of the outgoing in charge MoH.
