Dy superintendent of land records, Tuljapur commits suicide

In a sensational incident, a deputy superintendent of the office of the land records working at Tuljapur in Osmanabad district committed suicide allegedly over the harassment by his subordinate staff, at his home at Tuljapur on Monday night. The police have booked three employees of the office in this connection.
The deceased public servant has been identified as Pandit Tukaram Doiphode (52) and was native of village Malkolhari in Nanded district while the subordinate staff as S N Suryawanshi, S S Dhole and A A Mali.
According to the details, Pandit was working in the Tuljapur office for the last three years and was living alone in a rented house in ST Colony here. Suryawanshi, Dhole and Mali in connivance with some others prepared fake papers and forged his signatures on them. Pandit lodged a complaint with the police station concerned against them and based on it a criminal case was registered. Annoyed over it, the three were harassing him. They beat him up in his office and he was deeply upset over the manhandling and harassment from the three.
He took the drastic step sometime on Monday night though the incident came to light on Tuesday morning. Police first sealed the spot and then searched it to seize a suicide note written by Pandit in which the names of the three were clearly mentioned. His brother Maruti Pandit lodged a complaint and based on it a case of abetting suicide has been registered against them.
